The sessions are held in beautiful outdoor settings in your local area.

In Leeds, the sessions take place around the natural beauty of Roundhay Park with lakes, woodland area, greenery, and amazing backdrops to create truly stunning natural outdoor family portraits.

The session itself takes around an hour in total.

You are welcome to bring as many people as you like, as long as you want them in your family portraits! Immediate family, grandpas and grandmas, aunts and uncles, partners, all welcome! And yes! your furry friend is also more than welcome to join the fun!

Changing outdoors is a little trickier than in a studio, however, there are places to change, and yes, it is possible to bring one outfit change, as this provides variety to your images, so please feel free to do so. Also, feel free to bring your favorite props and toys to tell your story!

If rain or bad weather, this means we cannot go ahead with the shoot on the day, so we will either

1. Reschedule your session to the next available date OR
2. Offer you a full refund for your session fee

This rarely EVER happens and we are confident you will LOVE your images.

If for whatever reason you are not thrilled to bits with your session we will give you a full no quibble refund of your session fee no questions asked! Alternatively we are happy to arrange a reshoot for you at no extra cost.

Yes! Your images can be viewed on a mobile device, tablet, and desktop. We recommend using a desktop for best viewing experience. Your link and password can of course be shared with family and friends and they can also star their favourite images too.

Although we do not sell digital files individually, they are available to purchase as part of our digital collections. These come with full copyright release so are great to use for creating your own wall portraits or albums or uploading and showing off on social media!

We understand that life happens! If you do need to cancel we simply ask for a minimum of 48 hours notice which can be done by email or phone so we can offer your session to someone else. We will refund your session fee as long as we have had the minimum notice period.

If you are unable to make your session, please let us know at least 48 hours before your shoot date and time. We will find a date on our next available schedule for you to rebook.

Yes, even though your shoot takes place, outside, we are still respectful of your safety and adhere to  minimum social distancing regulations of at least 2 metres at all times.

We will send you a guide on what to wear before your session so you have time to plan. Since your family portrait is outdoors, here are 3 key pointers to bear in mind.

1) Earthy colours work best

2) It is a good idea to try and coordinate!

3) If you are planning to display these in your house think about the colour schemes of where you may end up displaying your finished portrait.

Our retouch team get to work on shortlisting and enhancing your images straight after your session. Please allow up to five working days before you receive your private viewing gallery and password.

Yes! All your images will be subtly and beautifully enhanced to make them look simply fantastic. We have 4 levels of retouching depending on the experience your purchase.

• Platinum Retouching – cropping, enhanced colour and lighting control, skin smoothing, removal of blemishes, special effects
• Gold Retouching – cropping, colour and exposure, special effects
• Basic Retouching – simple cropping and exposure

Your gallery will be active for 10 days to allow you time to view and plan your purchase.

Unfortunately, due to the size and storage requirements we do require your order to be placed within the viewing timeframe which is 10 working days. You may be able to benefit from an early bird discount if orders are placed within the first 48 hours.

Gone are the days of hard pressure face to face sales in a dark viewing room with pushy sales tactics! We don’t operate like that and want you to make the right decision for your needs. Your order will be placed by you (with our guidance if needed) on our amazing private online viewing platform which looks stunning and is easy to place your order on.

Our top priority is to ensure you don’t just like but LOVE your images, if you don’t, we’ll give you a full no quibble refund for your session fee, no questions asked.

We do in fact have a studio based in Street Lane, Leeds. This is ideal for small families and personal branding shoots for individuals. However, we believe that stunning family portrait photography looks best in beautiful natural surroundings, hence Portraits in the Park our brand name!

We use top of the range Canon DSLR 5D MK4 camera bodies which can shoot over 32 million pixels for simply breath-taking quality. If you think your Iphone 12 can compete, think again! We also use Canons Flagship L Series Lenses which give really stunning optical quality especially when used outdoors. We also use expensive on-camera as well as off-camera location lighting to give your images the ultimate look and feel without being unnatural.

Apart from the fact we’ve had over a quarter of a century experience shooting family portraits, it really is our passion and it’s what we love. You won’t get the same feel, artistic edge, experience or results with any other photographer we promise!

We normally recommend for ladies to apply make up around 10-15% heavier (if you would normally wear it anyway) when shooting outdoors.

All times are generally good in the park as there are plenty of shaded areas and the light moves around the whole day to provide different lighting and amazing shots depending on the time of the day. First thing is very nice to get early morning shots and last thing is nice as the sun maybe lower in the sky. It also depends on what you have planned for the day and what time your family are all in their best!
